The 2016 U.G.L.Y. Campaign launched across Australia on Saturday, October 1.

Port City Bowling Club’sEasties Crew aresupporting theevent for afifth consecutive year, having previously raised close to $7000 in this fundraising eventfor the Leukaemia Foundation.

Every $80 raised by an U.G.L.Y bartender provides a night’s accommodation for people who are undergoing treatment for the blood cancer.

PortCityBowling Club marketing andgrants coordinatorKaty-Lee Waldron said in many cases, people who have leukaemia andlive in regional areas such as Port Macquarie will have to relocate to the city for treatment.

“The fundraising helps to give those having treatment and their families a place to call home during the time they spend away from the town,” she said.

“Having accommodation at no cost relieves not only the financial stress but a bit of the emotional stress for families.”

On October 26 the public cansupport the Easties Crew by participating in their U.G.L.Y trivia event, which starts at 7.30pm.

Entry to the trivia event will be $5 per person.

Donations can also be made to the club throughout themonth via the donation jugs at the bar or on their online fundraising portal.
